In 2014, Anka Zwirydowska was the first to enter the sports arena, winning the Polish Cup against her rival from Ukraine 7:0. The last to leave the sports arena, or rather to run, was Mateusz Nejman in the XXX New Year’s Eve Run.
During this time, the competitors won:
1 medal of the European Senior Championships (silver);
22 medals of the Polish Championships in various age groups (including 8 Polish Champion titles)
According to the PZZ ranking, the Zgierz Athletic Association took 5th place in women’s wrestling, and 6th place in freestyle. Among the juniors, the youngest ZTA competitors won 9th place.
According to PZZ, Anna Zwirydowska was classified in 4th place as the best female wrestler.
Among the freestyle wrestlers, according to PZZ, the best from Zgierzany is Dawid Romanowicz, classified in 13th place. However, in the second ten there were also: Marcin Majka (15), Mateusz Nejman (16) and Damian Terenowicz (17).
The achievement of Dawid Romanowicz, who in 2014 won 3 Polish championship titles in three age groups, deserves attention.
In 2014, 5 ZTA wrestlers defended the colors of Poland in different age groups.

Anna Zwirydowska – European vice-champion, Polish senior champion, participant of the World Championships and military World Championships;
Dawid Romanowicz – 3x Polish Champion AD’2014 in freestyle wrestling, participant of the European and Junior World Championships;
Roksana Zasina – Polish champion, participant of the World Championships in wrestling;
Mateusz Nejman – academic Polish champion, bronze medalist of the Polish Senior and Youth Championships;
Dawid Pepłowski – academic Polish champion, bronze medalist of the Youth Championships;
Dariusz Cwońda – Polish junior champion (the first in this age category in the history of ZTA), winner of the Inter-Provincial Youth Championships;
Damian Terenowicz – Polish senior and youth vice-champion; bronze medalist of the academic Championships;
Jacek Winter – Polish youth vice-champion
Marcin Majka – Polish junior vice-champion, bronze medalist of the Polish Senior Championships and international junior Championships; Karol Woliński – international vice-champion of Poland, bronze medalist of the Polish Junior Championships;
Piotr Panasiuk – vice-champion of Poland among juniors, winner of the Inter-provincial Junior Championships;
Kacper Gongało – 2nd place in the MMM, 2nd place in the OTK in Krotoszyn and 2nd place in the OTK in Milicz;
Kacper Kraska – 5th place in the Polish Junior Championships, 3rd place in the MMM, 3rd place in the International Memorial of S. Reda in Warsaw, 3rd place in the OTK in Milicz;
Anthony James Davis – 9th place in the Polish Junior Championships, 7th place in the MMM;
Aniela Karczmitowicz – 1st place in the International German Children’s Cup in Berlin, 3rd place in the International Memorial of S. Reda in Warsaw, 7th place in the 9th Internationales Frauen- und Mädchenturnier in Berlin; Antoni Majchrzak – 1st place in the International Memorial of S. Reda in Warsaw, 1st place in Łódź OPEN, 5th place in the International Masovia Cup;
Patryk Florczak – 3rd place in the International Masovia Cup, 1st place in Łódź OPEN;
The ZTA and Friends team started in the SZAKALI Relay Marathon in Łódź… and finished!!!

Marcin Majka won the National Youth Olympics for the third time in a row and in 2013 he has a chance to go down in history as the only one who managed to do this 4 times in a row!
